I am a pronunciation teacher and researcher. I started as an ESL teacher many years ago, and teaching still concerns inform almost everything I do. I have published book chapters, journal articles and a couple of books on pronunciation. I was a presenter and organizer of the Pronunciation Essentials Pre-Convention Institute at the International TESOL convention for many years. I started the yearly Pronunciation in Second Language Learning and Teaching Conference in 2009, and am the editor of the Journal of Second Language Pronunciation. I have been at Iowa State University (one of the most beautiful campuses in the US) for the last 16 years. I teach undergraduate linguistics, in the Master’s in TESL and in the PhD in Applied Linguistics and Technology.
